Hello JP1 Community,

I am looking Remote code for DX Antenna Japanese BS Satellite receiver. I searched the forum but nothing found.
I also tried slingbox support forum. Admin sent me DX Antenna DIR-301 but no luck.

The following is the company's website.
http://www.dxantenna.co.jp/english/company_overview.html
This is manual (Japanese) but you can see the Remote controller's picture.
http://www.dxantenna.co.jp/customer/pdf/DIR3100.pdf

I tried to study JP1, but I am not smart enough to make bin file by myself.
I use Slingbox PRO HD.
Please anyone can help me.

I looked at your other thread in the Slingbox "Answers" Forum.

Can you explain in full what went wrong with:
http://remotes.slingbox.com
?

I don't see an answer to that question there, in the thread at Slingbox support...

Well, to be more accurate, ... I see "It didn't work" and "no luck" - but that's not an answer that helps anyone to help you -
tell us exactly what you did, and what "didn't work", in detail, please... Smile

i've tried http://remotes.slingbox.com
http://betaremotes.slingbox.com/
when i press power and other keys.

the website said it cannot be read successfully.

I have another Maspro DT35 receiver.
I found the IR code file on the forum. Unfortunately, the key
mapping are incorrect. I still cannot change to some channels.
The point is that I think my IR cable is connected correctly.

I hope this is good to explain "it didn't work".
I also think somehow i didn't use "create a remote" function correctly.
But I don't know which part may have the problem.

Well, as Alan found in your other thread at Slingbox, the closest thing in the Harmony database we can find is the DIR-301, and you say this doesn't work Sad

I can't find anything else, and you also say the http://remotes.slingbox.com/ site wouldn't learn from your remote Sad
(I think it probably would be a good idea to try that again, though, making sure you carefully follow all the instructions,
especially as you seem to suspect yourself that you may have "done something wrong"...)

If that still gets you nowhere, then unless you can find someone with a JP1 cable and learning remote to learn the signals from your remote, either locally, or by post, or you can find some more information, either by Google or by actually asking the manufacturer for details of the remote control protocol and commands (sometimes manufacturers are helpful), then I'm running out of ideas to help you. Crying or Very sad

I can't see anything in the manual you linked that would give any clues about the remote control protocol and commands, but I can't read Japanese, so if there is such a section, I could easily miss it. Chances are there is nothing helpful there though, I've only very occasionally seen manufacturers include useful information like that in the manual - if there is anything, you would have to translate it for us, or find an English manual...

Sorry if none of that helps much - as a last resort, I would be prepared to learn from the remote for you if you sent it to me - but you'd need to organise postage, and you'd be without the remote for the time it took to get here and back to you.

You could, of course, just buy a JP1 learning remote and interface cable yourself, and create your own upgrade and BIN files.
That's what we're good at here, so you'd get lots of help, and the advantage to you would be that you would end up with:
    1. This job done
    2. A nice new remote control and interface cable
    3. The ability to do this yourself for any new devices you buy in future
- that would be my recommended path, and probably not much more expensive than sending your remote away - certainly more convenient.

I will try to get one JP1 and study it.
I think this is the final solution for myself.
Thank you for your reply. Wink

You're welcome - that will certainly be your best solution, long term.

Don't forget, whichever JP1 remote you select will need to have learning - not all models do, so check that.

There's a spreadsheet containing all models and details here:
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=2981
or, if you don't have Excel, here it is as a pdf
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=5515

I highly recommend Tommy Tyler's excellent interface cable, available here:
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=9405
If the remote you find is an older JP1, you will need the little EEPROM "adapter" to go with it - for JP1.2 or JP1.3 you don't need that.

I'd strongly suggest, to avoid possible disappointment, that when you find a remote you'd like to buy, you post the model name/number here, before you actually buy it, so that someone can check it will do what you want, and confirm interface cable requirements.

I have found that the most difficult aspect of this is the distance from the remote to the Slingbox. The instructions tell you 1-2" as I recall. I have to have the remote almost touching the Slingbox, other people have reported they need to be further away. So experiment with that.

hi Alan,

thank you so much for your reminder.
I can see "The '3' key's been read." now.
The point is that I have to aim the left hand side of the slingbox.
I aimed at the middle of slingbox PRO HD before today as the web site introductions.

I may ask again how to convert *.LRZ to bin file.
Thank you.

PS: I didn't notice, there is a small arrow on the slingbox.
I should aim it, besides, the web instruction is ok. My fault.

Could you convert lrz file to bin file for me.

Good stuff. The important thing is we now know the protocol and device number. I managed to figure out the numbers, Ch+/- , Program Guide, OK/Select and the Down arrow.

You also gave me Zoom, #, and JUmp, but I don't know what functions those buttons carry out ?

Couldn't get the UP/Left/Right buttons, so could you try relearning them and any other missing buttons ?

Meanwhile the partial remote is posted at http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=9511 so irst make sure that works.

Al

Please check the lateset lrz file again.
I exported the file from remotes.slingbox.com not betaremotes.slngobox.com
i don't know is there any difference or not.
Please convert to another bin for me.

lrz file rev.B
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=9512

-Room key
the remote controller has one room key which can change the screen to "full", "wide", "normal".

-Jump key
use this key to input three digits channel.

-* key
change to channel 10

-0 key
change to channel 11

-# key
change to channel 12

That gave identical readings to the last one, same missing buttons. Are you sure you sent me the right one ?

I assume the remote is basically working though ?

please tell me how can I clear everything and do it again?
ex: clear IE cookie, clear existing remote controllers

I am sure I export the right remote controller.
I named the DIR3100 nickname as DIR3100R (with R)
DIR3100R is the model type of the remote controller

I can use *, 0, # as ch 10,11 and 12 etc.
I think I've already uploaded the settings to the slingbox.

My question is that why when I export the right remote controller
file it doesn't export all mapping keys.

so far I didn't use *.bin to check key mappings.
Because when I use remote master to open the *.bin file, i can see some keys are missing as you said.

No real idea, but you MUST check the partial BIN file i sent before you do anything else. If that doesn't work we are both wasting our time.

I just tried the BIN file.

Some keys are working.
ex: ch 1,2,3,4,5, ch up, ch down,

not working:
ex: ch 6, power

I probably will stay with my current one creating on
betaremotes.slingbox.com
It's about about time to pack for me.
thank you for helping me all the time.
