Admiral TV Discrete Power Codes

Post by chasg »

I learned the Power Toggle for my old Admiral TV with my new URC 8811:

Protocol RC5
Device 0
OBC 12
Hex Cmd CC or CD or CE
EFC 044 or 036 or 060
Misc T=0

Is there any way to figure out or guess what the discrete power codes are from this info?

It looks like your TV can be controlled with TV/0054. If so, you should try the advanced codes section of this site -- for TV/0054 click here. The power toggle is 44 (like your learn) and discrete codes are listed (on and off, plus codes for specific inputs.

Worked like a charm! You just made my day.

Can you explain how you figured that out, or point me to somewhere where it is explained?

Thank you so much for your help!!

You're quite welcome. As for how I figured it out, that's more experience than anything else. I checked the TV section of the Yahoo file area (under Philips, because RC5 is a Philips creation) and found RC5, Device0 mentioned as TV/0054.

I'd guess that your Admiral TV was a rebranded/rebadged Philips.
