Too bad nobody has written a war dialer for IR devices. Something that a user can operate by setting their laptop next to the device while it cycles through a range of IR commands at a set interval. If the viewer notices a response then they pause it to step through the previously sent codes. Then they can mark or annotate the ones that give consistent responses and allow it to continue the next set of sequences. That would make command hunting so much easier and less tedious.

I think you just volunteered! Smile

I just uploaded an upgrade for the Sony version of the first generation GoogleTV televisions. ( NSX-24GT1, NSX-32GT1, NSX-40GT1, and NSX-46GT1 )The remote image was created after discrete hunting as there is no IR remote provided by the manufacturer. Lucky, these televisions do have an IR sensor which allows this upgrade on your JP1 remote to control it.

Note: Don't bother trying this with the NSX-GT1. That Google TV Blu-Ray player does not have an IR sensor, and will only respond to RF signals from the NSG-MR1 controller or IP commands from a smartphone app.
