Hi,
I'm new to this forum, and have a Slingbox Classic (UK).
I have been trying to generate a custom remote for a Sharp BD-HD100 (Japan model) HD PVR. Non of the standard sharp remotes work.
I have generated ICT files usign IR Widget/IRScope, and used RemoteMaster to create a BIN file & then checked in to my Slingbox.
Unfortunately it did not work, none of the buttons worked.
The protocol is recognised as Kaseikyo-170.90 in IR Scope.
I will try repeating the procedure again tonight, it was a bit late in the night...and I could have missed something when working with RemoteMaster.
I'm a software engineer by trade, clueless when it comes to remotes...but this is all really interesting stuff...if anyone has any pointers, or areas that I should check -- would really appreciate it.
Thanks,
Shaz

Hi Shaz,
The best idea would be for you to zip together all the relevant files (ie, ICT, RMDU, BIN), then post it in the Diagnosis Area folder and then post a link to it here. Chances are that one of us will spot the error and get you going.
Could you also confirm which version of Slingbox that you have. You can verify your IR blaster version in the Slingbox Properties dialog.
1=JU
2=PL
3=PK
4=RV
5=PL (Slingbox Pro-HD)

Many thanks again for your response.

Since you have all the tools, you might want to check to make see what your bin file is sending. Some of the more obscure protocols haven't been thoroughly tested.
If you'd post your files in the diagnosis area and post a link in your thread we'd be happy to look into the problem.

Not sure if this is potentially part of your problem, but ... Kaseikyo 170.90 is equivalent to the "SharpDVD" protocol executor.
If you build the upgrade using SharpDVD protocol, you will, as a minimum, save some memory, since Kaseikyo is not built-in whilst SharpDVD is built-in to all of the Slingboxes.

Thanks for the help. Tried it with SharpDVD still no good. Recreated the BIN file once again this evening, but no luck.

Recreated everything again today, just to make sure I didn't do anything wrong...but no go.
Thanks,

Hello,
Thanks for the tip...didn't think of looking at the binary file.
Some of this is really a lot of fun...you're right I can see it being addictive!

A quick glance shows that the RDMU doesn't have the subdevice.
In the device column
Device =8.48
You need to use .48 in the subdevice field.
If that doesn't fix it, I'll take a closer look.

Thank you! Brilliant...this seems to work.
I will edit the remote and bit more, once finished will
upload the BIN file.
Thanks again!!!

Thanks everyone for your help.
Not a common device, but uploaded in Slingbox Binary Files area,
if someone from Japan needs it.
