I'm still really confused. It looks like you are still using a custom protocol, since you've got the DirecTV protocol in the upgrade area.
I did look at the code a bit, and it looks like there is a design flaw in the logic, although this isn't the assembler that I specialize in.

Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.
