What has been decided about what to do with the PAUSE protocol on the remotes that have used our standard pid 01FB to send a signal? I opened the RCA RDF and see that 01f0 is in use. Does that somehow work with RM, and what about KM?
For the 10820N should the line be changed from
Pause=01FB
to
Pause=01F0
And what about the LKP, can I use any unused protocol number, except 01FF, or is there more of a strategy to this? Do I need to be more familar with protocols INI to make a better choice. _________________ Remember to provide feedback to let us know how the problem was solved and share your upgrades.

Is the URC-10820 one of the new remotes that allow PIDs greater than $01FF? If so, why not pick a PID that is greater than $01FF for PAUSE? _________________ Rob

I have no idea. I was looking at the RCA remote and that uses 01F0 for pause _________________ Remember to provide feedback to let us know how the problem was solved and share your upgrades.

The thing to look for, in the RDF is this:
2BytePid=Yes
If you see it, it means that the remote uses two bytes of data for the PID, rather than grabbing a single bit for the first byte from the setup code hex.
I just looked it up, the URC-10820 doesn't use it, but the URC-10820N and the RCA do. I think you can pretty much guarantee that all new remotes (like the RCA) will use it.
I would recommend that we use $FF?? PIDs for the special protocols in the 2BytePid=Yes remotes. _________________ Rob

That works for me. That pretty much moves them out of the way. I was wondering if that's what we should be doing for the unextended remote as well. _________________ Remember to provide feedback to let us know how the problem was solved and share your upgrades.
