PIP Source for Scientific Atlanta 8300 HD

Post by alanrichey »

On the 'real' remote for the Scientific Atlanta 8300 HD there is a 'PIP source' button at the bottom left.

But none of the 8300 Upgrade files in the File section have this button included, and when I installed this device on my Harmony remote it was not defined either.

Anyone have any idea what the code is ?

Hi Alan, I looked at your SA 8300 upgrade, and then I looked at this sa 8300 upgrade If I didn't misread this, both upgrades are for the same box, but yours uses rc5 and ibnobody's upgrade uses Panasonic (Old). (its really not all that odd for boxes to respond to multiple signal sets). Ibnobody's upgrade has a source defined. The button on the lower left hand corner is actually called "Video Source" and in this upgrade its labled Source.
Remember to provide feedback to let us know how the problem was solved and share your upgrades.

Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.

Hi

No, I have been using Panasonic(old). Interesting about the Video Source function. That code (13) is actually in my upgrade but the person who built it on the Harmony Database labeled it 'Inputnext'. I hadn't associated that with the PIP function. I'll give it a try.

Thanks

Al
