Invalid session

Post by jbollt »

Rob...I frequently get "Invalid session" message when trying to reply to, or edit a post. I am logged in at the time. I am using WINXP home version and AOL is the ISP (I know....could be AOL).

I'm afraid neither Rob nor AOL have nothing to do with this... session expires on web server because you take too much time to write a post. Increasing timeout on a server usually does bad things to it.
When this happens to me I hit "back" button in IE and return to input page with my text PRESERVED. I then copy it into clipboard, return to the thread, click "reply" again, paste the text and send it without problems.

Yup. I've had that happen too when I've walked away when in the middle of typing a reply and then return and try to complete it. It's like WWW said, it's a time out.

Best I can suggest is that you learn to type alot faster because the time out is quite long! :)

Thanks, I'll try that.

One other thing you can do to prevent the timeout (and still be able to take too long to type a message :) ) is to click the preview button every once in a while while you are constructing your post.
