Jim - that is spot on as I understand it.
All source select codes seem to work irrelevant of the subdevice. It looks like the slingbox is limited to one remote at a time & I do not believe that there is a shortcut way to easily switch between remote setups. Bugger. _________________ Hebs |

That's why they have different OBC numbers - they need to work whatever "mode" you are in.
So can't you set up 4 remotes, and use it like it was 4 devices (which it really is) ?
Or does that hit some limitation ?

I see what's going on now, and reading the OEM site it makes perfect sense.
The Avil device takes in IR signals in one format (in this case, XMP) and converts them to the signal required by the source device, which could be a DVD player, a SAT box, etc.
Each source device uses a different sub-device code. So, to fully program your system, you would need to create up to 8 different bin files, each with a different sub-device. Then, to control source device 1, you would need to load bin file 1, to control source device 2, you would need to load bin file 2, etc.
I did notice that some of the buttons (ie, box office, interactive, services and TV guide) use two OBCs, so you won't be able to create these as part of the same upgrade as the other buttons. The MENU button should be OK though.
Here's some techie data (for me) for some of these buttons...
one:
0F1F4427 -13718 0E010100 -79944
0F1F4427 -13696 06810100 -79922
0F1F4427 -13722 06810100 -424248
menu:
0F1F4427 -13716 0D012000 -79942
0F1F4427 -13722 05812000 -542774
tv guide:
0F1F4427 -13708 06014140 -79935
0F1F4427 -13690 0E814140 -79935

Yes - I missed that - you have source_1 to source_8 in your rmdu file, and the website does mention 8 inputs - I kept mentioning 4 because there were only 4 in the Harmony download, duh... |

Following all this with interest, frustrated I can't help.

I notice that you have the coloured buttons assigned to INPUT03-06, what made you pick those buttons for them? | Rob: I think you are still using an out-of-date RDF file. I fixed the MENU/SETUP bug some time ago and also changed the Button mapping to reflect the fact that Sling have now officially allocated the colour buttons to codes. |

SLINGBOX
It is begining to appear that I am attempting to achieve the impossible (given the current custom remote capability of the slingbox). I can however control my source devices in a round-about way (by loading different BIN files for each source) which is much more than four days ago! Thank you all!
AT HOME
I have a rather complicated setup at home involving Keene IR over IP to fill the IR capability gaps caused by the AviLynx server (it is unable to control my media centre).
At risk of going off topic - an IR translator could solve my problems:
http://www.irtrans.de/en/ & http://www.lintronic.dk/
I need to capture the output of the AviLynx blaster at the media centre and (according to a set of rules that I programme) a different IR signal is fired at the media centre.
Any thoughts? - (Moderators, please put me back in my box if this is too far off topic). _________________ Hebs |

If you can use the 8 source commands to trigger the translator and get it to convert the same set of input signals into different output signals as a result, that should do what you want. _________________ Rob
