Thanks for your reply.

Seen this on the IR hack page as requirement: "European LG LF/LG/LH tv with USB service port" also seen other reports of LG series being hacked, so i think it should work.

found it here: http://www.oneforall.com/uploads/support/74aa588d8132f3b056ac048ba8660695.pdf

My gut feeling is that the URC-3910 won't support full keymoves, but it will support the keymove testing function, which is enough to do the hack. Like I said, this is just a guess, so if you do get the remote, please report back with details of what it can and cannot do.

The full keymove process is:

1) Press and hold SETUP, 2 flashes
2) Type 994, 2 flashes
3) Tap (don't hold) SETUP
4) Type the 3 or 5 digit EFC code
5) Tap the button to be programmed, 2 flashes

The keymove test function is:

1) Tap (don't hold) SETUP
2) Type the 3 or 5 digit EFC code
(hold the last digit to simulate holding the actual button, if needed)

Dear All,

I am wanting to hack the USB port of my LG 32LF2500.

I am not confident enough to flash the firmware so would like to carry out the process using a universal remote.

Could one of you nice people provide a step by step guide, starting with what remote I should buy to carry it out! I thank you for any help.

Funk x

PS - After I have done the hack do I have to use the UR to control my TV or can I go back to using my standard LG remote?

It looks like from your IP address that you're in Hull in the UK, is that correct? What "One For All" brand universal remotes are available in your local stores?

Hey guys,

I've just been reading through the forum and I've got an LG telly which I am going to do the Remote hack on, just wondered if you could confirm if all (or none) of these One for All remotes would work?

URC-7030
URC-7950
URC-7510
URC-7710
URC-7560

They are all pretty cheap and around the same price so I am hoping that at least one would be OK?

Cheers
G

Don't know about the URC-7030 or 7710.
The URC-7510 and 7560 will work for the LG hack, but these are older remotes.

The URC-7950 is fairly new design, and will work for the LG hack, and has a newer and larger collection of setup codes, so it has better chance of being capable of similar hacks on other components. It's also a pretty good general purpose universal remote!

The URC-7560 has setup code SAT/0644 which should work, and I know this remote supports keymoves.

The URC-7950 has several setup codes that should work, including TV/0178.

I don't have data on the other remotes.

The 7030 and 7710 both carry TV/0178, but the manuals (available at rockabilly.net Very Happy ) do not mention keymove capability.

The 7510 also carries TV/0178 and the manual lists 3 digit EFC style keymoves.

Thanks for the reply

Hi yes thats correct. I'm not entirely sure about the available 'One For All' remotes locally. Could you give me examples of a few that would work, and I shall see if they're avaialble locally or on eBay etc.

Hope this is OK

I just added some more listings to my previous post, so you have some other options if you don't win the first one.
