Raw Download

I have always saved a download of my new remotes before doing any IR work. I have just found that the best practice would be to do a "raw download" of my remotes, no matter how mature the RDF is.

I remember one time Graham saying he rather naively thought downloading and saving a file from IR would allow you to restore the remote to its original state.

That remark was lost on me until today, when I was debugging my extender. I downloaded my e2 area to see why my extender wasn't activating. I accidentally pressed load the next time I was going to download and voile the extender activated. Ir had found and fixed my protocol table mistake on the fly without any mention that it was changing the data.

I don't think any of the beginner documentation addresses the raw download, but it definately should. I was aware of the raw download, and its use in creating new RDF's, but I had to hunt for this on the advanced menu. I'd been using IR for 10 years and had never done a raw download before today.
