Yes, but why are you using IR 7 when it has been superceded by IR 8.02 some time ago? (Also, I assume that it is just your imprecise terminology, but a "JP1" interface will not work with a "JP1.2/3" remote no matter WHAT version of IR you are using. You are building a JP1.2/3 interface, correct?)

Troubleshooting Guide

Try fresh batteries, make sure you have pin 1 to pin 1, no other app is using your serial port, and JP1.x is picked in IR.

ok, i tried some things. First, I flipped the transistors around, and noticed the remote did not respond to buttons being pressed, yet it did when i unplugged the interface cable. So, I flipped the transistors back, and now it does blink when I press the buttons, but Jp1xtest says no jp1.x compatible remote found.

Ok, I got it to work. I took the interface apart and then rebuilt it. Thanks to you guys i am up and rolling. I have one last question (hopefully). I found the hex codes to my projector on remote central

http://www.remotecentral.com/cgi-bin/codes/infocus/lp-290/

I used IRtool to decode it, but I dont have a clue what to do with it, or how to copy these commands to my comcast remote so it will control the projector. Any help would be much appreciated..

You can quite a few clues by opening up the Sticky thread entitled Beginners--PLEASE Read This First. Read JP1-Just How Easy Is It?

Then you can use RM to make an upgrade and copy it into IR.

Read the beginners guide, then start a new thread for your projector in the Code Search forum (using the required template), otherwise your projector questions will get lost in this DB25 thread.
