Remote Control Delay

Post by boesdad »

Have an HD box (PACE RNG110) with the newer
dark gray remote. Everything works okay, except
after you hit the power on for all, everything comes
on, but there is about a 45 second delay in being able to use
the remote.

Get no response from any of the buttons for that
length of time.

Appreciate any help as to why the delay.

The equiptment is from Comcast

I would say exchange the remote for a new one. I have the same HD box from Comcast, and I actually use an "old" Comcast remote (grey button model). I have no issue with any delay.

I do have two of the newer "platinum" remotes, but I have not used them. So, I cannot comment on the remote itself.

I have a Comcast tech coming to test my signal strength, if I remember I'll ask him about the issue.

I just remembered a (small?) detail Comcast told me about setting up this box. Check the set up code in your remote (EFC 990 process). There seemed to be some problems with the boxes using the old code of 0476, but this box takes 1362 (I need to check that set up code).

Also, call and ask Comcast to send a "refresh" signal to your box. But, first unplug the power to the box, for about 30-45 seconds, then "reboot".

A simple reboot of the box may take care of this issue.
