Does anyone have the codes for the Directv H10 HDTV Sat reciever? I tried the code for the D10 and it didn't work. I'm programming a RS 15-2116.
Thanks |

Meaning the remote didn't accept it, right? The D10 and H10 both use the same code, but it isn't in the 2116. _________________ Edmund |

ptjohns, how about filling out the template at the top of the forum so we don't have to play"20 questions." _________________ -Jon |

1. Device: Directv H10
2. Type of device: HDTV Satellite Receiver
3. JP1 Remote model: Radio Shack 15-2116
4. JP1 user? yes
5. Still have original remote? yes
6. Checked Yahoo file section? yes
7. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? yes
More background - I've successfully used jp1 to program this same remote control for a Samsung TS360 Sat receiver, created macros, etc. Just so you don't think I'm completely wet behind the ears. Long time lurker, first time poster.
The issue I encountered was when I uploaded the code for d10 (obtained from Yahoo) to my remote, my remote went into a 'brain lock' state when I tested. The red light on the top of the rc was constantly on, and the 'sending signal' icon was also persistent. This led me to believe that the code was not valid.
However, it is entirely possible that I did not program the remote correctly as I saw a note within KM about uploading a new protocol for this code set as well. This is something I have not done before and I could have performed wrong.

My first guess is thay you may not have copied both the device AND protocol upgrade and it needs both. But the file is the safest way to see what is going on. _________________ -Jon |

If the remote locked up, it tends to imply that a bad protocol was added, rather than no protcol at all. When the protocol is missing, the remote rejects the setup code that's assigned to the device button and reverts to the default code.
If the wrong remote was selected in KM or RM and the selected remote was an older S3C8 remote, the vector addresses in the protocol will be wrong, which would cause a lock-up. _________________ Rob

Rookie mistake. I retraced my steps and found that I had selected the wrong remote control in KM. Once I selected 15-2116 and rebuilt into IR it worked (with a possible exception of the menu button).
Thanks for all the replys and help. Great site. It's nice to know that forums like these are out there. |
