Hi:

I using the Atlas OCAP 1056B01 and was wondering is it possible to assign the setup key to another key that is more convenient to finger reach on the remote?

I want to do this without using an extender.

Thx

Only with the extender can this be done. Why do you fear the extender? It is not quite as intimidating as it seems at first glance. It does not limit you in any meaningful way (loss of ability to directly use learned signals), and provides more flexibilty in many meaningful ways.

You can put a macro that contains Setup on another key. I had to do this when my Setup key failed.

BTW: Extenders absolutely scared me to death. The Captain had to hold my hand through the whole process. In the end I was right to be scared, because once I used an extender I would never ever go back to an unextended remote, and it plunged me into a serious case of jp1-obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Capn:

I use extenders, no problems, except for the Vickyg problem of becoming addicted to them.

I just need to relocate that darn setup/shift key.

Thought there might be a single "shift" macro available without the full extender.

I tried defining the FAV key as Setup but that didn't seem to do a thing.

Setup does not seem to have a code associated with/to it.

Was your reply related to using an extender?

Thx

The FAV key is the one key that cannot be re-programmed on some remotes, so that's not the best key to test the concept with.

The SETUP button doesn't have a code associated with it, but it can be used in macros, so you can program a macro to a regular button which has just one step (that being the SETUP button).
