I've read (some old post) the way to send efc's is press set, then enter the 3 digit efc number holding the last number a few seconds. That doesn't appear to work with this remote. This is for a TV that I have loaded an upgrade for if that makes any differnce. I'm trying to find the discretes, but trying known working efc's doesn't work with this procedure. Anyone got an ideas why not? |

Your remote uses 5-digit EFC's, not 3. Prepend 00 if necessary. Usually no need to hold the last number.
Check your PM's. I've got some for you to try. Use the EFC5 codes. If you're using a combo protocol, you're better off adding the test codes to an upgrade since the 5 digit EFC's are all over the map.
EDIT: Looks like Mike and I were typing at the same time. |

Yes, it requires efc5 codes. And the ones you pm'd worked. And of course the ones I already had worked too. What puzzles me is how you knew what TV I needed them for. |

I think the 5 digit EFC's were introduced the S3C8+ processor. All JP1.2 and JP1.3 remotes use 5 digit EFC's. A couple of the early s3c8+ remotes had problems with EFC style keymoves, when UEI was transitioning from 3 digit EFCs to 5 digit EFCS
You can find that information in several places. Since Graham added that "Open RDF" feature, you can check in IR and see the "EFCDigits=5" entry.
You can observe it in IR, whenever you make an efcstyle keymove and try to type in 3 digits, you'll see digits pad out to 5.
Or if you use the lookup tool and select your remote, it will tell you how many EFC digits your remote uses. _________________ Remember to provide feedback to let us know how the problem was solved and share your upgrades.
Tip: When creating an upgrade, always include ALL functions from the oem remote, even if you never plan on assigning them to a button. Complete function lists makes an upgrade more helpful to others.
