What would be the best way to find out if a remote in a store is JP1 compatible without having to buy it and open the batt. door and see if it has the 6 pins. The remote in question is a GE RM25001?

Also I am having the wildcard * difficulties to be able to making it work properly if I do the following oldgrouch* I get the response no topic found could somebody please explain the wild card issue if possible ?
Thanks in advance

All known JP1 remotes are on THIS list. Newer one's not on the list yet are HERE. No GE remote has ever been JP1, and your's doesn't look anything like other JP1 remotes. So I'd say there's a 99.9% chance your's isn't JP1.

On second thought, the best, most up to date list is probably the Lookup Tool link at the top of forum. Choose any search and look through the remote drop down list.

I got several results searching for Author oldgrouch*. The "Your Posts" link should work as well.

If you go to a store in the U.S., there isn't much available.

JP1.2
oneforall 10820
oneforall 8820

JP1.3
oneforall OAR05S
RCA RCR05B

Also I saw the URC-6131N, which might be JP1, but if it is, it would need modifications. One for all updated the 10820 and 8820 recently so I wouldn't be at all suprised if they did the 6131n too, since this remote doesn't support learning. If it hasn't been changed, I would think it would be pretty obsolete.

I saw the 10820 and the 8820 and the rcr05b on the shelf when I was Christmas shopping this weekend. All of these would require a flash type cable.
