My father is using the IR and RM to work with his Radio Shack RS 15-1994 6-in-1 Smart remote. He has been picking my brain to figure out how to load the drivers and get the system to run. I have managed to get the programs to run for him. I had him run a download from remote and all we got was information on the General page. There was nothing filled in for any of the key moves or macros.
I had assumed that download from remote would download all of the keys from the EEPROM so I could save it in a file giving me a backup of what the remote was like before any changes were made.
But, I continued to look in rmhelp.html and it wants me to use rm to pull in an rmdu file. Problem, when we downloaded we did not get those files. Where do we fine the remotemaster device upgrade files?
Extra difficulty - he is in Placerville (sacramento) and I am in mckittrick (400 miles away) He does something and then I copy it. Then I try to help him make it work.

Have you read the sticky "PLEASE read this first "in the Beginners Forum? And "JP1-Just how easy is it?"
You not only need to download the programs, but also RDF (Remote Definition File) files, maps, and images. You'll find these in the File Section (look near the top of this page). Probably the the lack of the appropriate RDF file caused IR to display information only on the General Tab. In IR, use File/Set Directory to point IR at the directory where you have put the RDF files. IR will use the RDF file to locate EEPROM data at the correct location for the 1994.
RMDU files (and the functionally equivalent KM files) are located in File Section\Upgrades. These files specify the particular protocol used by your TV/DVD/receiver etc., and the associated device numbers and function numbers. By default RM only shows RMDU files in the file chooser, but you can tell it to also show KM files if have downloaded any of those. On initial startup, RM will ask you to point it at the location of the various file directories, and you must do this to successfully use the program.
There is no installation program for the ensemble of required files, so you have to do this manually. I set up my directory structure with separate subdirectories called Images, RDF, and RM-KM.
BTW, it will be easier for me to read your posts if they are in the default font and background

Is your dad new to JP1ing, or did he lose everything with a computer change? A lot of my answers will assume that he's new. If he's done JP1ing before than you can ignore everything I'm writing below.
I think you are expecting to see more than we can get with a download. We don't see the individual keys of any built-in setup code that is used. That information is not in the eeprom. We can read setupcode numbers that were assigned to the device keys. Keymoves and macros that we defined with 994 and 995 comands, upgrades and learned keys can be seen in the download too..
Was your dad using keymoves and macros?
If you want someone to take a look at the downloaded IR file post it in the diagnosis area and then post a LINK to that file in this thread.
