South African DSTV- Pace TDS850IMC

Hi,

I have been searching high and low for the bin files for South African DSTV. I have a DVR box and model number is Pace TDS850IMC.

The Slingbox I have is a PL version.

I would be super thankful for any help to generate the bin files.

I don't have BIN files but I have a couple of upgrades from the Pace remote URC-39895. You can probably use this as a starting point in building your RMDU file for RM. RM can then create your BIN file. This upgrade does use the 016C XMP protocol so it is possible you may run out of space for a BIN upgrade. If that's the case, you'll have to switch over to a 1-byte protocol upgrade. I believe there are a couple around.

Where do I start to get this working?
1) I have downloaded remotemaster and all supporting files and everything seems to be working.

If you could kindly outline steps I can go through trial and error, but am not able to figure out from here what I need to do. Thanks a million.

There is a sticky post at the top of this forum that discusses creating BIN files. You'll need to download this RDF file for the Pace URC-39895 remote. After that, startup IR.exe and select the URC-39895. Then go to the Devices Tab and seperately ADD in the 2 device upgrades. You can use the 2 upgrades to find the hex codes for each function.

Startup RM and select the Slingbox remote for your slingbox. Choose the 016C protocol. Enter fixed data into the device0-device3 boxes. The 2 upgrades have different fixed data. One has 10 17 44 47(device0=16 dev1=23 dev2=68 dev3=71). The other has 10 27 44 48. Fill in the function codes and names using the list from IR.exe. After that, assign functions to slingbox remote buttons and then output the BIN file.

Try a few functions out first as we've had issues with the Dreambox/XMP protocol on other slingboxes. You can search for other threads that discuss what was done to get things working(adjusting protocol and switching to a 1-byte protocol).
