audio sync advice

Petitioning for suggestions to solve slight audio sync problem.
Dish-hdmi->TV-digoptical>Amp
Tv audio and Amp out of sync; un-bearable to have both on at once; yes amp is behind.
I'm considering buying another optical audio cable to run from dish->amp...
but I didnt know if coax is a better route.
I'd have to buy both or either regardless.
Same problem on Sony DVD was solved using video delay option of the sony...
