|

How can I copy an IR signal coming out of a remote control? I am looking for an economical backup. The only marking or name on the Remote Control is RC-82 on the back.
Here is my problem. I have a Volvo XC90 (2006) with a center console DVD player that is connected to two DVD players (one in each head rest). This is a factory system and when you turn it on (load a DVD), it only plays the sound through the IR headphones. To get the sound to come to of the rear car speakers, you have to push the speaker button on the remote control. If you don't have a remote, or if it functions intermittently(like mine), you cannot switch to the speakers. This defeats the purpose of a DVD player when you try to get a 2 year old to wear a head set.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. |

Just buy any "learning" remote and it can likely copy all the signals. Pick up just about any cheap remote from walmart, radio shack, etc., so long as the package says "learning". If you want a JP1 compatible one you could later back up on your computer, get one of the models on THIS chart and build or buy the appropriate interface cable. |

Also be sure it's an IR signal. Some auto systems can use RF control. _________________ Mark |

back from the dead.
it is really tough to find info on this system. were you able to use a universal remote and if so, do you have codes for it that can be used to program a remote?
I have one that you can configure on the computer so i can just provide the code to the button. |

It's not that simple, even if the OP had found a universal remote that worked his player, the code number would not work with a different brand of universal remote.
So anyway, back to your situation, do you still have the OEM remote and does it still work?
What computer configurable remote do you have? _________________ Rob
