When my RCU810 extender is installed, key moves & macro's are not operational. I have tried both extender 1 & 2 in IR. The remotes display does not show emitting for any key moves or macro's. All other functions pasted from km work properly. Please assist.

Most likely that means IR.EXE is not using an RDF file that is compatible with the extender. I haven't looked at RCU810 extenders in a long time and RDF files have changed since then. I expect the RDF packaged with the extender is no longer good for IR. I hope the new collection of RDF files has one that is compatible with both the extender and IR.

There are other ways it could be wrong. Not installed right, maybe just not activated. So the RDF file idea is just my best guess.

Thanx johnsfine for the reply.
I used extenders 1 & 2 provided in IR 4.01. Also tried RCU810 extender 2 from yahoo. To no avail.
Activation was successful as all other functions work well. I so want this to work. I will keep searching.

You can save an eeprom image from IR.exe of what you tested, and put that in the diagnosis folder. Someone will look at it and hopefully figure out what went wrong in installing the extender or the KeyMoves.

I will build another one and post as you suggested. Deleted all the previous ones.

Am I correct in choosing "File"/"New"/"Select"/RCU810 extender, then importing km files to IR 4.01? Is this right process for extender installation? Just curious.

Thank you for your input.

No. That is why it doesn't work. The documentation included in the extender's zip explains the installation process. IR's File/New command does not work correctly for extenders.

OK, finally got it. Successfully merged old file with new. No small feat in itself.

Thank you very much johnsfine. If there is anything I can do for you, please do not hesitate to ask.

This thing is soo awesome!
