At the home page, I see there have been 21 posts since my last logon:

But when I click on it, I get the message:

UPDATE After I posted this question, it still showed 21 new posts, but when I clicked it, this one new one showed up. I suspect it will work fine the next time, but it would be interesting to know if anyone else experienced this.

I had this for a while. It was a network problem on my end. But it went on for months. I went to using this query which will show me everything that has happened all day.

Whats not working now, if you enter a forum that supposed to have new posts in it, the indictors that point the threads out with these new posts, are missing. It looks like everything has been read.

Thanks, it's nice to know it isn't just me.

Thanks for the query Vicky that makes it a little less work.

I suspect that this is the same problem, since the same query determines which ones to flag.

As an experiment, I logged off, cleaned my cache and logged back on. It appeared to cure the problem, but I won't know for sure until there is more activity. MaskedMan, you may want to try the same thing.

I don't know if browsers make any difference, if cache is involved. Personally, I never come in through the front door, so I never see the new post count message. I use Mozilla Firefox.

I always come in using a bookmarked newposts link:
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/search.php?search_id=newposts

When I want to look for a recent post, I use the same link as Vicky and I just change the number at the end to how many days back I want to go.

I use Firefox also. I should have first tried just the logoff / logon to see if that fixed the problem and then if not, cleaned the cache. My hindsight is usually better than my foresight. If it happens again, I can test that.

I now will be using Rob's link as my way in, since I always did the same thing, but with 2 clicks.

I signed out and cleared the cache on the computer, no one showed up last nght so I could test it.

Now I'm on the webtv which was left alone, and everythings working as it should.

But both were having the same trouble yesterday.

I also have to refresh my cache to see what's new. I hit F5 to do that. No need to logout/login.

Best,
jeff
