1. Device: Yamaha RX-396
2. Type of device: Receiver/Amplifier
3. Year: 2002
4. JP1/UEI Remote model: URC-7200 (With JP1 mod)
5. Do you have a JP1 cable? Yes
6. Still have original remote? Yes
7. Checked the file section? Yes
8. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? Yes
9. Partially working setup code? No
10. Learning remote question? n/a

I thought I had this one licked, but I'm afraid it's gotten the best of me. I can't seem to control this receiver with any of the One For All Yamaha codes. I found a RX-396RDS Pronto file which should cover the RX-396, as the only difference between the two amps is RDS radio support, but no luck. I ran the Pronto file through decodeCCF, and plugged the EFC and device codes into RemoteMaster, mapped the function to keys, and then uploaded the upgrade to my remote with IR. No luck. Nothing. Zip. Just to be sure, I tried all the buttons with the amp already on, to see if anything was working. Nothing.

What am I missing? The original remote (Yamaha RAX12) works with the amp. I have used KM and IR to upload new devices before, so I'm not completely out of my element, but I don't know what else to do at this point.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

If this is of any help, here's the output from decodeCCF for the Yamaha RX-396RDS (clarification: there are no Subdevice codes):

Cheald,

Those look like pretty standard signals, that should be easy to reproduce.

Could you post your IR file, and your upgrade in the diagnosis area, and then post links to those files here.

Upload your RM file and your IR file with the upgrade installed to the Diagnosis Area, then come back and provide links to them.

The KM file that I uploaded has a subdevice of 133. This was a test after looking at the hex codes from the CCF file in ProntoNG. I have tried both with the subdevice set to 133 and left blank. Neither variation worked.

Hmmm... I don't see anything wrong. You could try THIS one, but it's not much different from the one you made.
