want user friendly dedicated keys

I bought a RS 15-135. Apparently it has dedicated HDTV keys (PIP and HDTV inputs). If I am controlling DVR functions with the remote, and want to use one of these "dedicated" HDTV keys I have to hit the TV key before using the "dedicated" key, then hit the DVR key after. I wish these "dedicated" keys worked like the volume lock. I tried using the Learning function to teach the remote to send HDTV commands with these keys, when the remote was in the DVR mode, but it would not transmit.

I would appreciate advise on whether or not it is possible to get these keys to transmit HDTV commands when the remote is in the DVR mode.

I assume you don't have a JP1.x cable. You can copy that key from TV mode to the same key in DVR mode. To use, for example the HDMI button in DVR mode, do the following.

- Press and hold P for 2 blinks
- Press 9 9 4
- Press TV, then HDMI
- Press DVR, then HDMI (2 blinks)

Now the HDMI key from TV mode has been copied to the HDMI key in DVR mode.

EDIT: Edmund almost beat me to it. Either method will work fine.

try the following:

1. tv
2. press and hold P for two blinks
3. enter 9 9 4
4. press PIP key
5. DVR device key
6. press PIP key

repeat for the other command.

Wow that's great! It worked. I used it on the Aspect key too.

I wonder why Radio Shack doesn't include 994 in their manual.
