JP1 Remotes

I have the OFA 7541 which does not learn (as far as Iknow!) but does have a JP1 connector.

The remote has 4 device buttons but when connected to IR.exe it specifies that there are 5 devices?

SAT
TV
VDR
AUX
xDev

what is xDev and how can/do I use it??

You can use it as a 5'th device, but it takes some effort to add that to your configuration. You need

1) A protocol upgrade for the "Device Select" special protocol
Upgrade protocol 0 = 01 FB (S3C8)
00 00 01 E4 03 5F AF
End

2) A device Upgrade for that
Upgrade code 0 = 1C 50 (TV/1104)
FB 00 01
End

3) A KeyMove assigning that setup code (TV/1104) and the hex command 04 to a shifted or phantom key in some device mode (other than xDev).

4) A macro on the key you want to select the fifth device (most people use a shift of one of the other device keys) to switch to the device mode in which you defined the keymove and then do that shifted or phantom key.
