i been a member here for a while but i never have actually got a jp1 to work for me..havent really tried.
now i have some 6131N remotes and soldered JP1 pins into a couple of
them.
i made a simple Paralel cable last year but i think i should check that guide again to be sure i have my pinouts correct.
could someon point me to that guide?
i have remotemaster 1.86 and installed the java runtime.
i have VIEWSAT EXTREME.rmdu and Syntax_Olevia_537h.rmdu
from there i'm stuck.
i opend the rmdu files but i dont see any option to upload the command set to the remote.
also dont see a way to determrine if my connection is working and the pc is talking with the remote. |

The computer program that communicates with your remote is NOT RM. You need to download IR.exe and run that. From an open instance of IR.exe, you can download from your remote and verify that your cable is working properly.
The rmdu files you have are used to tailor the UPGRADES you want to add. Then you copy and paste the OUTPUT of the RM file into the applicable DEVICE UPGRADE and/or PROTOCOL UPGRADE sections in IR.
I recommend reading the various beginners' ReadMe documents (linked in my signature below) _________________ Beginners - Read this thread first

I think the 6131N modification requires an eeprom as well as the pins. Did you follow the modification instructions carefully? |

Does that mean that you didn't solder in an EEPROM chip? If so, that explains why it doesn't work, as the 6-pin isn't connected to anything.
Re-read the instructions (below) to make sure that you covered all the steps:
