Cap'n: Not quite. The Harmony works perfectly and completely, including these three commands. (If it didn't, I can learn anything I need to off of the original remote, anyhow.) I personally am completely squared away. Rob asked me to edit down the upgrade he gave me to work off of so that we can add it to the library for future HTS-GS1 users to benefit from, and I want to give back for all of the help the JP1 community has given to me, so I'm happy to do it.

I just want to make the best upgrade I can. I was able to figure out the discrete input buttons, so all I'm missing are those three, the SR+, the S. Retriever, and the MCACC. I was asking you about the OBC's because you had been helpful before when I was working on the discrete on/off issue, and you guys clearly know more of the advanced stuff than I do (but I'm getting there), so I thought you might know something here that I don't.

Rob: I can't remember if I tried that upgrade directly, but I think I did and I didn't have any luck. But I will definitely try again just to be certain. I KNOW I tried making those commands in my upgrade using the OBC's given, but using device code 166 instead of 165, and that didn't work.

It's my guess that it's brute-forceable; looking at the upgrade as I have it now, the other audio commands (Setup, Sound, Surround, et. al.) consistently use no prefix device or command and device 166. if I made an upgrade with all of the OBC's between 0 and 255 in device code 166 that your original upgrade didn't have, I think I'd stumble across it. And that might, thinking about it, be pretty easy to do; it would just be a lot of work to enter it all into RM.

I uploaded what I have to this point to:

http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=6049

I probably should have zipped in that picture of the original remote I took. I left the device as DVD 1525 because that's what it was in the upgrade Rob gave me to start from, even though it's really an audio device, because I didn't know if I can just change it in the drop-down up in the corner of RM without breaking things. And I'd like to add the Xbox Media Remote keys, but I suspect I'd have to do that with keymoves, and since that's a custom upgrade unto itself, I don't know if I can do that.

So, summary: My Harmony One is working perfectly. (I wish there was a way to pull the IR information I need off of it!) I just want to make a good and complete upgrade to help future JP1 users.

The 5 digit EFCs that the Capn posted won't work with the URC-6131.

You can't try using EFCs with audio/0013 when that setup code doesn't exist in the URC-6131.

When you say "it doesn't seem to work" what did you try exactly? In order to program those two codes, you would need to create an upgrade that uses the Pioneer protocol with a device code of 165, and you might as well call it audio/0013 just for the sake of consistency. The upgrade doesn't even need to have any buttons included in it. Then, you could program the two keymoves that you desire.

Here's just such an upgrade...

Upgrade Code 0 = 30 0D (Amp/0013)
E2 00 01 5A
End

I have been trying to use the info in this thread to add discrete codes for my Pioneer receiver in my URC-9910. I use setup code 1023 to control the receiver.

I am confused about using setup code 0013 or 1023.

Should I be using 0013 or 1023? I tried it both ways.

I added the Upgrade Code for both 0013 and 1023 and used keymover to setup keys for EFC 208 and 204 and it doesn't work.

Should I be using 0013 or 1023? I tried it both ways.

What am I doing wrong? Any help for this Newbie will be appreciated. Thanks.

Go ahead and post using the code search template. There are too many unknowns otherwise.

It's best to map the keys in RM in this case. Key mover doesn't take into account the different devices in this combo protocol. Try THIS upgrade. Discretes are on phantom1 and 2. Move them anywhere you like.

The 1023 code would require 5-digit EFCs and the URC-9910 doesn't support 5 digit EFCs, so remote entered keymoves are not possible.

However, as you have a JP1 cable, why not use an upgrade instead of messing around with keymoves. There isn't an upgrade for the D901 specifically, but there are plenty of Pioneer upgrades to chose from including the Pioneer Master.

Thanks for the reply robman. I loaded the Pioneer Master upgrade and mapped the discrete keys and they still don't work. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Rob,

I noticed the discretes in your master file are device 165, but the ones in Capn's are 164.

I'm not sure about that old file of mine as I have a newer receiver and have posted a newer "master" file, but in general, Device 164 functions are "Tuner" functions and Device 165 are "Amplifier" functions. I no longer have that receiver, but my current Pioneer receiver uses the Device 165 codes for input selection.

I think that we're at the point where we need to see jledwell's files.

Please take your device upgrade file (the actual one that YOU cut and paste into IR from, not the SOURCE file from the file section here), and the IR file taht you uploaded to your remote, zip them together nad upload them to the diagnostic area of the file section.

Then post a link to that file here and we can take a look to see if you are doing something wrong.

That text file in the zip is neither a KM upgrade nor an RM upgrade. Please provide the KM or RM upgrade file.

One error is that your L3 key move is for Mute On. You probably meant for that one to be Power On (should be hex $58 $5C when you fix it). L4 looks right. Does L4 work for discrete off? Do the other functions in this upgrade work?

Is NOTHING in your upgrade working?

Are the discrete inputs on the number buttons working?

And your only problem is with the discrete POWER ON and OFF functions?

I hope so, because your upgrade and IR file look mostly fine.

I see taht you have two keymoves that seem to not go together.

On RCVR-L3 you have 8A 8E, which is a discrete "MUTE ON" so it should Mute the volume on your receiver;
On RCVR-L4 you have D8 DC which is a discrete "POWER OFF" which should turn off your receiver.

Did you intend for L3 to be "POWER ON"? If so then it should be 58 5C.

Thanks for the replies.

Is NOTHING in your upgrade working? Yes, Everything is working except the discrete on and off.

Are the discrete inputs on the number buttons working? Yes

And your only problem is with the discrete POWER ON and OFF functions? Yes, but that is the only reason I did the upgrade

Yes, I was in a hurry trying to duplicate what I did earlier and clicked the wrong one by accident

I re did it and posted the files here http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=6607

I tested it and both the L3 and L4 do the same thing, they toggle ATT ON and OFF. Do I need a different code?

Thanks again.
