URC-1240 shifted keys

Hi All,

The support for the shifted keys (by "setup" button) in URC-1240 seems to be disappeared in the recent versions of RMIR.

I have an old rmir file for URC-1240 with this macro section (power on/off three devices: SAT, Power, AMP, Power, TV, Power).

Code: Select all

[Macro]
Data=06 03 07 03 02 03
SegmentFlags=255
KeyCode=131
DeviceIndex=0
The KeyCode parameter here is 131 (0x83) which belongs to Shift ("setup" button) followed by Power. This Macro appears to be invalid in RMIR at least from version 3.2.0.

However, if I include this shifted button in the RDF for URC-1240 as

Code: Select all

[Buttons]
...
Shift-Power=$83
it is working properly, can be seen in RMIR, can be uploaded to the remote, and the macro performs as it should do.

My question: is it intentional that this function is not available anymore?

I have found other issues with 3.2.0 when handling upgrades, that were also present in 3.1.14, so I've had to go back to 3.1.13.

Unfortunately, Graham is out of action at the moment, so we'll have to wait until he gets back online before he can look into them.

Rob if you Compare the RDF of the URC-1240 for RMIR 3.1.13 or older to the newer versions, in the general section there has been added "Shift=0" perhaps the problem is with RDF development and not RMIR itself
By removing this line the shift key seems to work, I can not confirm though since i do not have this remote

When I use 3.2.0 or 3.1.14 I keep getting the message "Inconsistent upgrade: Upgrade <none> has inconsistent command lengths." when I open upgrades, that's why I switched back to 3.1.13

I do remember running into that problem a while back but I do not remember if I solved
it or just quit on it

That was my first clue too, but changing it to "Shift=1" didn't help.
Of course, you're right, removing this entire line solves the problem.
Thank you!
