Nevo C2 learning the LG AKB7585501 TV remote

Hi,
It's been a while since I've toyed with Nevo C2 remote and devices. I'm having an issue with it the LG AKB7585501 remote for a LG-HDTV 49UH6090. The buttons giving me trouble are the Settings button (LG AKB7585501 remote)/(Nevo C2 remote Menu button) and Up (directional button on Nevo C2). I've used the Menu button on the Nevo C2 for the LGs Settings function/button. On the Nevo I have to press (VERY hard and for an extensive time period) to get the Settings to appear. Eventually the menu does appear. As far as navigating at this point all the buttons work except for the Up button. In the RMDU file the Up button is active on Layout tab.

Here is where my mind goesw blank. When I do Learn a Function (Nevo), I choose to overwrite the key with new function (although it's the same/old), I choose Yes, its says point the oem towards the bottom lens and press the key you want to learn; the function wasn't received, try again? I can upload the RMIR/RMDU files here for a fix or receive some good orderly direction. Thanks in advance.....

It's not really clear from your post whether you're having an issue with certain buttons on the Nevo being un-responsive (from wear) or if you're having an issue finding the right codes for some of the LG buttons. Or, do you need help telling the difference?

Learn it to a different button or a soft button, then move it to Menu later. I suspect the button is just worn out.

There's also a "Settings" function here that you could try.

Mr Robman and MrDave,
Today I just discovered that replies to this post occurred 12-1-2025. The format seems a little different but I'll catch on; learning what was enabled/disabled. Earlier I received an email when someone replied to my post. Has that changed?

I'm in the dilemma of the Nevo 2C buttons being worn and not being able to Learn a Function or relearn. At this point I have to press the key to learn on the Nevo RC for an extensive time to arrive at the prompt telling me the key is already controlling something else; do you want to overwrite? I press Yes and always met with The function was not received, try again?

Its the OEM remotes' Menu/options key and Up directional key I'm trying to relearn.

It's been a little while since programming JP1 etc. I'm rusty. In advance, thanks

Yes, since the site moved to a new server, I haven't been able to get forum email working.

My advice remains the same. Learn to any other working button (any soft button as well) then move the function to the arrow keys.

Personally when my Nevo buttons started to fail, I just replaced the whole remote since it's impossible to fix them.

Ah, the good ol' days when you could pick up as many Nevo's as you wanted on eBay for $20 a pop, then overnight the supply died up.

Yeah, those days are gone. But there's still a few up there for a decent price.
