I am hoping that someone can help me. I am looking for codes for the following device:
1. Device: Aspire AD-N820B
2. Type of device: DVD
3. Year: 2004?
4. JP1/UEI Remote model: URC-6131nB00
5. Do you have a JP1 cable? Yes
6. Still have original remote? No
7. Checked the file section? Yes
8. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? Yes
9. Partially working setup code? Yes (found in the file section as:Aspire Digital AD-1100S DVD Player)
10. Learning remote question? n/a
The partially working code found in the file section has many of the buttons workig but not the most important ones like play or left arrow. I have uploaded that code and assigned every button then graphed what each one does so I have really been trying to get this to work. It' sclose just not close enough.
What I am really hoping for is someone who has a working code. If not then mom won't be too happy for Christmas.
Thank you in advance for your help.

It's polite to post links to files that you'd like people to look at:

As this upgrade partially works, it means that you know the protocol (NEC1) and device code (0), so you now have the tools to figure out the button codes.
What you should do is create several upgrades that include all the OBCs, then load them into your remote and test them to see what each button does. I would skip OBCs in the range 32-63 first time around and only go back to them if you are still missing some functions.

Explaining a bit further what Rob already told you:
Many models of many brands of DVD player use NEC1 protocol with device number 0.
The common practice (for DVD players using NEC1 device 0) seems to be to invent a new random mapping between OBC number and function for each new model. That is very different from common practice in other device types or other protocols, where two models of the same brand, type, protocol and device number normally share the same OBC to function mapping.
So without learning from an original remote, the best you can do is a lot of testing to find out which OBC numbers map to which functions.
In theory any OBC number from 0 to 255 could be used for any function. But most often only OBC numbers from 0 through 31 plus OBC numbers from 64 through 95 are used.
You can see in the upgrade for the Aspire Digital AD-1100S DVD Player that most OBC numbers are in the 64 through 95 range and all the rest are in the 0 through 31 range. Even though the specific mapping is different for your model, I would expect the distribution to be the same (most in 64 through 95 and the rest in 0 through 31).
