While experimenting with my URC-3660 I discovered something new
This is the method I did
Remove all power from the remote (press a button after to discharge the capacitor),
Reapply power, wait for 2 flashes,
Press 1 + 3 simultaneously within 6 seconds
The remote then Flashes TV device key 4 Times and this next sequence repeats twice
it flashes the complete top device row then the lower device row and then the activity row
This in turn deleted all upgrades and segment 14 and all backup segments
Leaving The device segments and segments 13, 1A and the activity segments
This Reset also worked on my INT 422-4 which is also JP1.4
I wonder if this would reset a bricked JP1.4 remote

Do these 2 remotes accept the 980 and 981 reset commands, and if so, do they do something different to this 1-3 reset?

Both remotes will do 980 just using the setup key procedure
Both require the battery removal and 2-8 simultaneously procedure for 981
What is different is that with the 3660 the 2-8 procedure does not flash the device key sequence which is what made me think the 1-3 combo is doing something more
The INT 422-4 does not have lights on the device keys so it can not be noticed

Ah, got it, so as best as you can tell, apart from the flashing lights, the 1-3 reset doesn't do anything different compared to the 2-8 reset, from an RMIR file point of view?
Except, with 2-8 you still have to type 981, but you don't have to do with with 1-3, right?
