URC 7880 Pin configuration and SH-U09G cable

Post by cstocksd »

I purchased and installed the driver per the instructions that came with the SH-U09G USB Cable. Ready to give RMIR a try but need to understand:

1. what are the pin descriptions on the 7880 and
2. Pin 1 is not identified on the board. (there is a white dot next to one pin... it that #1
3. have seen posts that indicate to take the batteries out and some to leave them in... which is it for the 7880

what other really stupid thing have I forgotten?

Many thanks!!

The pin marked with a white dot IS pin 1. The pattern for the remaining pins is

2 4 6
1 3 5

You will see it in this orientation when looking at the back, laid horizontally with the top end on the left. You leave the batteries IN when using RMIR.

I see that your cable has individually labelled separate leads. You only connect four of the pins:

2=RTS 3=GND 4=TXD 6=RXD

Hope this answers your questions.
