I am not sure what the problem is I have tried Numerous test's

I have tried everything I can think of but I can not use The extra Devices 1, 3 , 7, or 8
A macro will work with the normal A, B,C or ,D Devices but not the other ones.
Is it possible that this remote is only 4 device after all ?
Ideas on what to test next appreciated

I did more experimenting with uploading, downloading, deleting segments, and all kinds of configurations
I tried the 968 command to make the backup segment.
I had devices 1, 3, 7, and 8 device code's set to different devices but after 968
1,3,7,8 were reset to being not set.
Same result using 977 command to restore
I doubt there is an error in the RDF or in RMIR So perhaps these extra devices are read only? or do not exist ?
I am at a loss to explain this remote's behaviour

Those appear to be a holdover from the RDF for the INT-422-3 remote, looking at things again, I don't see the dev 1/3/7/8 codes in this remote, and your tests seem to prove that they are not valid for the -4 remote.

Yes I thought this is a 4 device remote not 8
Rob can you tell if buttons FF F8 55 60 belong in the button maps?
FF is in Map 1 and the rest are n Map 3
I have not been able to make use of these buttons and at first i thought maybe this remote had dual purpose FF AND Rew by holding the button down
but so far no luck
If the buttons do indeed exist then I will do more testing

Thanks

From My own testing I have concluded that the extra buttons do not exist and I have modified the RDF To reflect this
I updated this RDF By deleting Dev 1,3, 7, 8
I deleted their corresponding number' s in The Maps along with deleting from the Maps extra Non-Existent Buttons FF F8 55 60
I added line
[Settings+]
Backlight time (secs) = $13 2.7.8.5.0

New RDF is here

No, FF is a delimiter, so everything in red should be deleted from the button maps, that data is actually the start of the next button map:
