Also, just for your info, here are the device codes that correspond to the 2 hex codes that you posted:

01FF = 128.255
807F = 001.254

The number before the decimal point above is the "device code" and the number after is the "sub-device code". We just use the decimal point as a shorthand notation, it's not really a decimal point number.

Here's an expanded list of UEI setup codes that match 128.255:

No I don't know about loading code into the MX900. Never had to do it. I did look at those cables. The 2nd link was the only active one on that JP1 page.

Thanks for the additional info. Yes, that Universal Browser I recognized the name. To use that aren't you using the USB cable connection on the remote like you do to load config files? There is a unused 8 pin solder connection on the PCB that use to have a header that doesn't anymore. Isn't that the serial port?

To use the universal browser in the mx-900 editor, once you open the software, the icon second to the end at the top of the page, is universal browser, last icon being the live update.

Click on the universal browser, a box with three panels appears, above them is the word HEX, click on it to open the hex box. There you paste the hex string, at the top of the box is target with word DRAG next to it, once you have pasted the hex string you will press and hold the TARGET icon and drag it to a key, click on it to place it on the key. Now you can rename it or leave it with name they give it. You click save and download it to your remote and test.

I start with a clean slate, nothing programed in the remote?

No, you start with dedicated device for the DVR, is the mx-900 programmed for other devices you already have? This new device will be empty until you have imported hex and assigned them to keys of your choosing. Test one of the codes before doing all.

I only have mx-900 set to use the stand alone mx-900 editor because of you, and this question:

Start w/ a clean slate and add a device for the DVR,
Open Universal Browser,
Click on Hex Editor,
C&P the Hex code,
Drag to that command button.

Is that correct?

BTW, it's not UEI it's URC;

It's a older remote, but it's still current.

I'll let you know about that code as soon as I get the DVR, the weather is delaying it.

It just dawned on me I posted the wrong DVR name. It should be Tablo, not Homeworx. OP corrected.
