|
|
I have a Yamaha RX-A780 (codes same as RX-V685 and common to all recent Yamaha receivers).
I have discretes for all the streaming services except Amazon Music, which seems to have been added more recently.
Looked in the usual places, I'm sure it has to be out there somewhere, but I am having no luck.
I just found Robman's spreadsheet of extended code combinations, will try that ... _________________ URC-8820 x2, URC-10820N, Insignia NS-RC05A-11 x2, RCA RCRP05B, Potenza ST ADB, OARI06G, URC-7980, OARUSB04G, Nevo C2 x3, AOC 67100BA1-017-R, onn URC-3660, Insignia NS-RMTSNY17, IRWidget

Thanks, I had the same thought, but they all work except Juke and Radiko, which do nothing.
I also tried about a dozen of the more obvious unused ones in Robman's spreadsheet with no luck. _________________ URC-8820 x2, URC-10820N, Insignia NS-RC05A-11 x2, RCA RCRP05B, Potenza ST ADB, OARI06G, URC-7980, OARUSB04G, Nevo C2 x3, AOC 67100BA1-017-R, onn URC-3660, Insignia NS-RMTSNY17, IRWidget |

Unfortunately with Yamaha using multiple device and sub-device codes, plus 2 or 3 different style of OBC codes, there's way too many possibilities to do the normal code search where you just try all 256 OBC codes.
Best I can suggest is to look at the master spreadsheet and see if most discrete input codes use the same device and sub-device codes, and maybe even use OBC codes that are grouped together (I don't have it open, so I don't remember what they look like) and then try some gap OBC codes that are close to the other input codes. _________________ Rob

Thanks, that's basically the path I am on.
Unfortunately the worst part is, without a discrete, the only way to turn it on at all is with the Android app. I don't even see a way to bring up a list of streaming services like my previous Onkyo had. _________________ URC-8820 x2, URC-10820N, Insignia NS-RC05A-11 x2, RCA RCRP05B, Potenza ST ADB, OARI06G, URC-7980, OARUSB04G, Nevo C2 x3, AOC 67100BA1-017-R, onn URC-3660, Insignia NS-RMTSNY17, IRWidget |

I just took a look at the master list and you may be in luck. All of the discrete input functions that I found all used NEC1 with dev 122 with sub 133, and they either used the standard NEC format or the Y1 format.
So what I would do if I were you is, fire up RM and select "NEC 4DEV Yamaha Combo" as the protocol, then enter 122 as dev1 and 133 as sub1. Then on the Functions tab, you should select "122.133" as the Dev.Sub, "NEC1" as the NStyle and then for the first batch, select "NEC" as the YStyle. For the next batch select "Y1" as the YStyle. This way, you only have to test 2 sets of 256 codes.
I just created the following RMDU file, which has all the codes from the spreadsheet in it, sorted into dev.sub, Y-Style, OBC order, so you should be able to use this to try creating dummy upgrades for all 256 OBCs in each combo, but skipping all the known codes, to reduce how many you have to test. (I included all codes for all dev.sub codes, just in case you need them too).

Cool, thanks! I will work on running through those, the Nevo makes it pretty easy to try 30 at a time.
I also discovered that the NET button switches through all the (un-skipped) streaming services along with NET RADIO and SERVER. I initially thought it was a discrete like the TUNER, USB and BLUETOOTH buttons, because it initially went to NET RADIO when pushed. _________________ URC-8820 x2, URC-10820N, Insignia NS-RC05A-11 x2, RCA RCRP05B, Potenza ST ADB, OARI06G, URC-7980, OARUSB04G, Nevo C2 x3, AOC 67100BA1-017-R, onn URC-3660, Insignia NS-RMTSNY17, IRWidget |

Good news, I hit it surprisingly quickly, in the first set of codes. All the other streaming discretes are 127.1 Y1 so that's where I started.
Amazon Music is 127.1 Y1 24. Presumably zone 2 would be 25. I'm surprised they are low numbers, far away from the others. _________________ URC-8820 x2, URC-10820N, Insignia NS-RC05A-11 x2, RCA RCRP05B, Potenza ST ADB, OARI06G, URC-7980, OARUSB04G, Nevo C2 x3, AOC 67100BA1-017-R, onn URC-3660, Insignia NS-RMTSNY17, IRWidget |

Well done, and good call on using 127.1, I was thinking of it as a discrete input. Did you happen to discover anything else while you were messing around?
I have added the Amazon codes to the file I posted earlier, in both id1 and id2 modes, both all 3 zones. _________________ Rob

The complete list of streaming services (from the Input Skip settings menu):
Napster
SiriusXM
Pandora
Spotify
Qobuz
TIDAL
Deezer
Amazon Music
Alexa
AirPlay
MusicCast Link
So, Alexa is missing as well, and how about that, the first one I tried, 28, is it. Didn't hit anything else, I've only tried 40 or so total. _________________ URC-8820 x2, URC-10820N, Insignia NS-RC05A-11 x2, RCA RCRP05B, Potenza ST ADB, OARI06G, URC-7980, OARUSB04G, Nevo C2 x3, AOC 67100BA1-017-R, onn URC-3660, Insignia NS-RMTSNY17, IRWidget |
