Yeppers. Actually have three of them, although one of them, it appears I need to fix because apparently my ex spilled crap on it and the up arrow button no longer works :/ (she had a nasty habit of doing that)
I have knocked together a file for it for my new bedroom mess. I had to use some of the "alt" codes for the TV, and the Harmony was using device 64.191 for most of the codes, not just 64. I changed the upgrade I was using to use 64.191. I am going to upload to diagnosis not because I feel like the Insignia TV is well programmed (I'm not yet 100% happy with it yet, but it's useable) BUT because I'm having some weirdness with input selections. If anyone has any ideas, I'm all ears. What's happening is that when I hit an activity, everything works more or less correctly, either I'll see the TV switch back to HDMI1 or else the Oppo will end up on the wrong input. I'm using the optical for TV sound as I can't seem to get ARC working. Oppo input selections are:
1. Blu-Ray Player
2. HDMI/MHL In-Front
3. HDMI In-Back
4. ARC: HDMI Out 1
5. ARC: HDMI Out 2
6. Optical In (BDP-105(D) Only)
7. Coaxial In (BDP-105(D) Only)
8. USB Audio In (BDP-105(D) Only)
HDMI switch selections are:
1. Roku Stick
2. Fire Stick (I am using this rather than the built in Fire capabilities of the TV as the TV is not mine but the Fire Stick is. This way I don't have to delete my friend's info from the TV)
3. Chromecast
4. DisplayPort to HDMI cable from laptop docking station
5. open
The only thing that I can think is that there's some interaction between the remote signals for the three devices.
This is a similar but different setup as I had at my last place; TV and HDMI switch were different but I'm basically using an Oppo BDP-105 as a DAC for HDMI sources that is downmixing sound to 4.0 and sending it to my old quadraphonic receiver and speakers (used to be a Sansui QRX-7001; currently it's a Marantz 4270 that I'm trying to thoroughly test out.)
Yes, I know that it would be far easier to use a more modern AVR. In fact I just saw an Anthem for a good price and I'm tempted... but I'm also having fun playing with this stuff.
Devices are:
Insignia NS-32DF310NA19
Protocol is NEC 4DEV Combo using devices 2.125 and 64.191 all NEC1
Oppo BDP-105
Protocol is NEC1 using device 73.182 (can change to 97.158 or 67.188)
generic HDMI switch
Protocol is NEC1 using device 1.254
I see they are all NEC1 protocol but using different devices so I'm not sure what gives
I'm confident in the Oppo upgrade as I made it myself straight off a spreadsheet from their web site. Because Oppo is awesome, they specifically call out protocol "NEC or NEC1" and give me the device and OBC in a fashion that I have come to expect from working with upgrades here previously. I'm not having any issues with the HDMI switch just the TV and Oppo.
Thanks guys... I feel like I'm almost there, just gotta play a little more.
