How is the shift function used on a Charter OCAP C4000 URC-1060BC2 JP2 remote?

I know for some remotes you tap the setup button and then the button that you want to use the shifted function of.

I have tried that but I can't seem to get that to work at all, perhaps their is another way or this remote does not support shifted functions? and yes I actually have a function assigned to a shifted key.

PS. These remotes are decent for their cost, free since I live in a Charter AKA Spectrum served area.

Every time I see one of those vans I always ask for a new remote which I have never been asked if I live in the complex or if I actually have their services they so far they have always given me one.

I ask for the silver ones that are reserved for legacy Charter customers those are the ones I want anyway as the newer black ones are not JP1able.

If you're trying to shift a digit button you have to press the setup twice.

OK, thanks that was the issue.

OK I guess I spoke too soon before as I did not actually try that suggestion before I made that reply (pressing the setup twice)

But it does not work with either a number or any other key that has a shifted function assigned to it.

Just so we can check that it wasn't a programming error, could you post your RMIR file please? (and post a link to it).

I am not an expert and i don't have much time to look at all of this but the shited keys
for tv worked on my samsung tv so we at least know that shift does indeed work on this remote.

From a quick glance i think your setup code of 2013 for the
Pioneer VSX-D509S may be in conflict with another code
i could not get any decodes with it but i changed the code to 2014
and i was able to get learns with pioneer decode

Do the TV/SOURCE and AUX/SETUP buttons work? I ask because those are also programmed using keymoves. You have "p.size" programmed to every shifted button in TV mode, was that intentional?

As for the AUX shift buttons, it appears that you're not using the DVD button for anything, so why not just program a second audio device upgrade to that device button with all the functions that you've put on shifted buttons?

No the TV p.size was not intentional I used the upgrade I don't remember if it was a RMDU or a TXT upgrade but it was not the RMIR file as I know using that on a different remote can break the other remote that was made for a different remote and I guess the original upgrade was made that way. I will have to change that.

I do plan to use the DVD layer with a Toshiba Blu-ray disc player.

I just wanted the remote for mostly the receiver as the volume knob on the front of the unit it very much useless (I believe it is called a rotary encoder) but the volume works fine with the remote, I don't have the original remote, I was given the receiver for free due the volume knob issues.

Do the keymoves present an issue?

I thought p.size on all button was weird too
tv/source and shift tv/source both work
aux setup keymove will not work
but that is what i expected

You need to remove the aux setup keymove.

Thank You that works for the functions that the receiver actually supports.

I will have to do more tweaking to see what inputs my Pioneer actually has and which ones I will use but this is a great start.
