I'm guessing there isn't one, but has anyone found a discrete "off" command for this BDP? I did a search and found a discrete on that works, and I've got my power macro set to turn this on and then wait 12 seconds and hit power toggle. A discrete off would be much neater however. thanks! Will post upgrade later when finished, I am still verifying everything because I used a Sharp DVD player for a template and had to learn half the commands as they were same protocol but different OBCs.

Could you post the upgrade now, and then update it later if needed? Otherwise anyone trying to help you is shooting blind not knowing what code this unit uses.

I started with a file someone had posted for a HP-20U; I assumed that they would be substantially similar, but I was wrong - had to learn a lot of buttons.
Before I call this exercise done I think I will learn every button off the original remote and check them off on a spreadsheet to make sure I have all the OBCs correct. Right now I'm waiting on an original remote for the receiver to show up as we had none at all, so the only codes programmed in were from a downloaded upgrade that I found that stated that it only had basic functions.

So, this device uses the Sharp DVD protocol with device codes 8, 48. I spotted one upgrade file that uses the same codes here, and while it doesn't include any discrete codes, it does include a few functions that you don't have (see below). I notice that your POWER ON OBC is 248, so have you tried 247 or 249 as a POWER OFF code?
OBC - Function
023 - Backlight
024 - InputNext
044 - Slow
057 - Angle
113 - 11
114 - 12
131 - Record
138 - Skip Foward
139 - Zoom
141 - CH+
142 - CH-
152 - C-Code
157 - Info
159 - Data
160 - TV/Radio
164 - TV-Analog
167 - exit
169 - Number Input
178 - DVD
186 - TV-Digital
187 - BS-Digital
188 - CS-Digital
190 - Chapter Mark
192 - Record Stop
193 - Record Pause
214 - Guide
219 - BD

I'm taking a break from working on this because I'm waiting on a factory remote for the receiver to finish that upgrade (right now it's hard to use the tuner because it only does preset up/down and direct frequency entry) once I receive that remote I will be fine tuning all of the devices in this setup as all required some work from me.
Rob, thanks for those codes, I will see if any of the "new" ones do anything on this device.

Just reuploaded.

I just brute forced it and found a very few buttons that weren't on the original remote, INCLUDING A DISCRETE POWER OFF.
There's an hour of my life I'll never get back, but hey, this is one step closer to a properly functioning system.
Now we have documentation that Logitech doesn't even have, as my Harmony does not show discrete power commands for that player.
Here's my notes from literally just brute force testing every OBC that wasn't already assigned to a function.
Added functions not on original remote:
Angle OBC 57
Display On/Off OBC 117
Power Off OBC 146
Error Rate OBC 241
Power On OBC 248
Other OBCs that seem to do something that I didn't fully test or include:
131: causes message "operate after stopping playback" but when stopped doesn't seem to do anything
138: skips a few seconds? forward?
164: goes to DVD menu
176: skips a few seconds back?
