i used my cellphone video camera to record the IR tips and when i was loading other samsung codes it was sending the code without any error pop up and flashing. When i was loading the custom file from C:\ drive no flash and error invalid code pops up;(yes I tried both PL and RV)
I did this custom bin file setup before with my previous box and i made it work the same way with a custom file , i am not new to this;
the problem is this tv company changed from the IPTV system to the android streaming system and now i cannot get this new box to change channels.
Slingbox is not using the browser setup anymore its just with the slinplayer program that is installed on my computer and after you type in the path it just has a power button to verify, with my previous box that i had it would just turn off when clicking that power button and nothing else, then you click next and would load the remote interface.
Thank you

The bin file that I created has a code assigned to the POWER button, so if it was flashing and not working, I would believe that the code is wrong. But if it's not flashing, it can't have been installed properly.

When you say other Samsung codes do flash, are you talking about built-in codes, or bin files that you have loaded?

See, that doesn't prove that you know how to load a bin file

But does it cause the IR blaster to flash? If it does, that at least proves that you got the file loaded.

Are you willing to spend $16 to get this working? If so, buy the following remote, then use it to capture the signals from your original remote. You will then be able to use the JP1 software to download the memory from the remote and I will be able to use that to create a working file.

If you get that remote and capture the OEM signals, I'll walk you through getting the data to me.

There's two ways you can do it. The short and simple way is to connect your remote using the USB cable and notice that a new folder opens, maybe called D: depending on how many drives you have on your computer, and in this folder is a file called settings.bin. Copy that file to your C: drive and then load it up for me.

However, the most useful way to do it, long term, would be to download and install the RM (Remote Master) program. Once installed, you will have 3 shortcuts:
  • RMIR
  • Remote Master, and
  • RMPB

You can ignore RMPB, the shortcut that you want is RMIR. Use that one to download the memory of your remote and save it as an .rmir file, then post that for me.

Using RMIR, you can see everything that's in your remote, and you can re-program it to your heart's content. Even though you bought it for a single purpose, you might just find it quite a useful remote.

I have the settings file ready but don't know how to upload it , I used the TV button on the universal remote to copy the original remote.
I downloaded the RMIR files but couldn't install the program.
Thank you

As the instructions say (and there is a readme) all you need to do is run setup.vbs, assuming you already have Java installed on your computer.

The instructions for loading files are here.

Thanks, I got the file (I moved it to the Diagnosis Area, by the way) and have made an upgrade file from the data here (you don't need this file):
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=25890

I then made Slingbox bin files here (I put the volume buttons on PAGE+/- and MUTE on INFO, just in case you have any use for them):
