running jp1 on mac os x catalina

Post by twarren »

Hi - I have just downloaded version 2.09 and am trying to understand how to execute it on mac os x 10.15.2 with java 13; it gives a bunch of security errors relating to unsafe libraries. I also have java 8 installed (somewhere) and might be able to run using that jre but my general question is:

How to run on catalina and how to use different jre if necessary.

The text of the messages is like:

“libjp12serial.jnilib” cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified.

I'm no expert with Macs, but I think you either need to lower your security setting, or you need to somehow "white list" the programs.

I think I remember someone else doing this and they had to completely turn off security temporarily to run the program, then turn it on again, and this somehow white listed the program.

thanks for the response. I did some research on the security features and found reference to disabling the OS X Gatekeeper which then does allow the Remote Master Jar to load without error messages. After doing this, I then turned the Gatekeeper back on and the app still ran. Now I just need to find an adapter cable to allow the remote to be connected to the usb port on the mac book pro laptop (which only has usb-c type ports)
