JP1 Remotes

Hi I have breadboarded a jp 1.x interface using Tommy's document revised 9/28/2008. I am building the transistor version.

I am using IR version 7.14 dated 4/27/2007

Now my question is this...
It seems that the latest plans call for using RTS to reset the remote while the prior version used DTR. How would IR know about this? (In other words am I using the right version of IR?)

I cannot get the Debug_Tester Group to work either but that also is dated before the pin change.

I can get serial loopback by using CommSniffer.

Evidently IR handles this somehow. I had a bad transistor which I found by writing a C program to assert RTS. The interface cable seems to work now.

IR tries both the DTR and RTS resets to see which works.

You should be using the info in this for troubleshooting. And instead of Debug_Tester Group you should be using TestGroup at https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=4459.
