I am still trying to be clear on how RM handles user files.
I know that if I open an rmdu file in RM and modify it, I can "save as" with a different name.
I also know that if I open an rmdu file using rmir and save rmir file, the edits are saved in the rmir file
...but, is appears that the original rmdu file is NOT updated unless I explicitly select "save as"
Am I correct on this?
Thanks in advance,
Beverly Howard

Yes. If your intention is to edit an RMDU file, or create a new one, use RM.
If your intention is to edit an RMIR file, use RMIR.
When you open an RMDU file as part of the process of adding a device upgrade to your RMIR file, RMIR saves the data that it needs in the RMIR file itself. It doesn't update the original RMDU file.
