If we already had an upgrade for BuzzTV it would be in the file section. The learning/create upgrade process takes about 15 minutes.

OK,

I created an RMDU and uploaded to the files section: http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=25265

I used the learning function of my URC-8910 to capture all the IR signals. It took many tries to capture each button with the same protocol, so I could easily use the "Convert to Device Upgrade" within RMIR.

Is it normal for IR capturing to be learned as several different protocols? Does it depend on distance, duration of press, lighting conditions? What's the best way to capture IR learning?

Thanks

This uses the NEC1 protocol, which is the most common protocol that we have. If you had trouble learning the signals, it was due to poor learning technique. With most protocols it wouldn't matter, but with NEC1, the "data" is all in the first part of the signal, after that there is a data-less repeat pattern which, on its own is useless.

So, for future reference, to get better learns, first put the URC-8910 into learn mode, then wait 1/2 second before pressing the teaching remote button. If you press the teaching remote button before the URC-8910 is ready, you'll miss the data portion of the signal and you'll have to re-do it.
