Hello,
have a Plasma HDTV and I watch mostly HDTV OTA.
I need a remote that I can punch in sub-channels.
If a JP1 remote does not have the - button, can I still program that with the software on the computer that is JP1 compatible?
If so, what is the best JP1 remote?
If not, I have to purchase a Jp1 remote that has the - button like the Radio_shack 15-135 ?
Thanks for your time,

With JP1, you can make any button the (-) button. If you're controlling your TV and not a DVR, the record button makes a good dash/dot button. If you're using a DVR that actually has a record function, consider making the Enter button the dash and use the Select button for the Enter function.
I like the URC-8910/9910,a nd there is good extender support for that remote if you're interested in that kind of thing. |

In fact, even without JP1, you can make a different button the (-) button, if you know the EFC for the (-) function. |

Just to be clear, the 15-135 is a JP1.3 remote.
And as Floyd said, any key can be made to be your - if you know the EFC. |
