I've got a new Yamaha receiver that is working with setup codes 0176 and 1176 for 99% of the keys I want. I can't seem to make the power keys work, either discrete on/off or toggle. I've tried upgrades from the files sections for RX-V430, RX-V595, RXV-657, RX-V640 and RX-V757 and all work partially for volume, mute, and others but none work for power control.
I did find a post for a Pronto code that works as discrete on and off for a Home Automation IR device called an Applied Digital Ocelot, so now that device CAN turn the power off and on. The problem is I have no idea how to get the pronto codes into a format for my JP1 remote.
The pronto info is as follows:

Any suggestions?
Yamaha AV Receiver Power Code

Those Pronto codes translates as follows:
On:
NEC1, Device=126, OBC=126
Off:
NEC1, Device=126, OBC=127
You can usually convert long form Pronto hex to info you need for JP1 using IRTool. You may also need DecodeIR.dll and put it in the same folder.

Thanks, I was able to download IRTool and see how the conversion works. I created an upgrade with device code 126 and now have working discrete power keys on my remote.
Does anyone know if there is a toggle power code for this receiver? I tried all the EFCs for device 126 and didn't find one. I may try 127 as well when I get time, I understand many of the Yamaha receivers use 122, 126, and 127.
For now at least I can turn the power on and off!
