Hi all, I searched for a solution to this issue in the forum but could not find it. I'm sorry if there is a solution, I didn't see it.
I copied my URC-6440 R00 remote from the original TV remote. channel change button
Pressing it once changes the channel, pressing it again more than once does not change the channel quickly.
When you press the channel change button more than once, the TV Button light comes on but the channel does not change.
If you press the channel change button more than once, it changes the channel after a certain period of time.
For example, while watching channel 1, pressing the channel change button once will switch to channel 2.
When I press the channel change button 5 more times, the channel does not change.
The volume change button works fine. I copied the channel change button to the Volume change button, the problem persists.
When you press the channel change button on the original TV remote control again, you can switch between channels.
Although the channels do not open immediately, it switches from channel 1 to channel 6.
Note: I copied the channel change button from the TV remote to the remote control of the TV Box, which has the copy feature. No problem. Changing channels is fast.
I couldn't understand what the problem was. I want your help on this matter.
I would be very happy if you could take the time to help with this matter. Thanks.

What is the TV brand and model? Sounds like it suffers from toggle bit or parity bit. Learning remotes have a hard time learning those commands. Is this a Phillips tv? _________________ Edmund |

gupoebun, are you a JP1 user? If so, take a look at the learned signals using RMIR, do they show the RC5 or RC6 protocol? If so, as Edmund suggested, these use a toggle bit which alternates each time you press the remote button. Unfortunately, when you learn a signal, you are capturing the bit in one particular state, which means it only works once.
If you're not a JP1 user, I suggest that you use the remote's code search function to see if there is a built-in code that works for your TV. We've never heard of Hi-Level before, so I can't look it up to see what code it uses, but if it is using RC5, it's may well be a re-badged Phillips TV. _________________ Rob

Thanks Ed, that confirms it, TV/3719 uses RC5 dev 1. That code is not in the URC-6440, but there are 4 other TV codes in the URC-6440 that also use RC5 dev 1:
TV/0648
TV/1149
TV/1163
TV/2676 _________________ Rob

If you find that one of those setup codes is close, like maybe works the volume and the numbers, you can probably fix the buttons that don't work using advanced codes (EFCs)

Thanks Edmund. Thanks Rob. TV/1149 code worked. Channel switching, volume, Power, Menu buttons work.
Rob
You can fix non-working buttons using advanced codes (EFCs)
I don't know how to do this. I would like to know.
I don't know exactly what I can do with RMIR. I need to learn these. |

RMIR is a program that you can use to program your remote when you have a JP1 cable.
Without JP1, you'll have to program it the old-fashioned way.
To program advanced codes, you can use the 994 function.
http://www.hifi-remote.com/wiki/index.php/Manual_Programming_-_9xx_Commands#.28994.29_Key_Mover
Note: if you'd like to test each of the EFCs that I listed before you try programming them, just to see which one's work, once you've programmed the TV/1149 setup code, you can do so by tapping the SETUP button, then typing the 5 digit code. If you want to simulate holding the button, hold the last number.
For example:
SETUP-0-0-0-4-4 should send the POWER coder
If you do this exercise, please post a list of which codes work and I'll add an upgrade to the file section to help the next person. _________________ Rob

Rob, doesn't urc-6440 have usb port? So, it doesn't need a true jp1 cable? _________________ Edmund |

It does indeed have a USB port and cable in the package. Plug and play with RMIR, no additional cables required. |
