DLO HomeDock Deluxe

If you have learned signals that don't get decoded when you look at them in IR.exe, post your file to the Diagnosis Area then post your question here (including a link to the file).

Thanks, Rob. I'd be glad to try another experiment later. I hope you don't mind going to all this trouble; it's certainly appreciated.

Give this exec a try...

Upgrade protocol 0 = 01 FF (S3C8+) DLO HomeDock Deluxe (PB v4.00)
49 96 21 8B 12 CF 4D 08 08 01 31 03 5C 01 31 01
27 DB BA 12 11 09 B0 20 11 E6 06 7A 18 05 56 C1
0F EB 03 E6 06 4F 8D 01 46
End

I've overloaded the leadin OFF time and the overall leadout time in order to get the repeating leadin time to match. If this doesn't fix it, the only other course I can think of is to handle the repeating portion manually, which'll take a little time.

Sorry, Rob. That protocol did not work at all (i.e. none of the buttons work).

I guessed that might be the case.

Bingo! Well, sort of...

Up/Down work great when you hold them down.
F.FWD and F.REW work intermittently.

Honestly, I don't remember the last time I used fast forward or rewind when listening to a song; I was more concerned about being able to scroll up and down quickly, which I can now do.

Thanks!

Could you do a new learning session for me please, could you learn the F.REW and F.FWD buttons several times each. For example, learn F.REW to the 1 thru 5 buttons and F.FWD on the 6 thru 0 buttons. Then verify if each of them work, if they do, keep them, if they don't, re-learn them.

Bottom line, I'd like to see several copies of a working version of each button as that will give me some sort of idea of the devices tolerance.

Rob,

Do you want me to learn them directly onto the URC-8910 or indirectly through the Pioneer remote?

Nevermind...you said *working* version of each, so that would mean an indirect copy through the Pioneer. Let me get started...

Hello,

The Pronto does fast forward through a song exactly like the little DLO remote does when the buttons are held down.

Perhaps the folks at DLO get as confused as I do when they look at the various symbols that have been adopted by the AV industry. For the DLO device, the symbols with the vertical bar ( >>| and |<< )are Fast Forward and Rewind. With most of my other devices, the symbols without the vertical bars are Fast Forward and Rewind.

To be honest, I hadn't used the two buttons on the DLO that are supposed to advance playlists. It turns out, they only work when the On-Screen-Navigation-Mode is NOT being used. Since the whole idea for me is to avoid using the tiny iPod screen (while across the room with the remote control), I won't be getting much use from the two playlist buttons.

I had to go back to your first post to see what you meant. So, when you learn the DLO remote using the 8910, you get non-working signals just like Mike, but when you learn them to your Pioneer remote and then re-learn them using your 8910, you get working signals. Interesting.

So if you TAP the >>| |<< buttons, they skip tracks, and if you HOLD them, they rewind and fast forward? That's good to know, because that's what we're trying to make the upgrade's buttons do (with great difficulty).

Fortunately, your Pronto learns are good clean learns, so they're very usable.

Here you go, Rob:

http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=3944

1-5 are F.RWD (all 5 work)
6-0 are F.FWD (all 5 work)

For some of the learned commands, it seems like I have to hold down the button a little longer to get the fast forward or rewind to kick in. Could that have something to do with how long I held the button down while learning the commands?

F.FWD was a little harder to learn, which is probably why I told you before that this was the one key out of the 4 that did not work when held down.

Correct. After a few attempts of learing the commands directly to the 8910, I got fed up and made a desperate attempt to learn the commands to the Pioneer remote (I think it's the only other learning remote I have) and then to the 8910. I don't know why I even thought it would work, but it did.

Yes, tapping causes selection skips. Holding down causes FFWD & REW.

Please give this exec a try...

Upgrade protocol 0 = 01 FF (S3C8+) DLO HomeDock Deluxe (PB v4.00)
58 85 21 8B 12 CF 44 08 08 01 3D 03 52 01 45 01
07 D9 80 11 C6 08 C0 20 11 E6 06 7A 18 05 56 C1
0F EB 03 E6 06 4F F6 01 46 C6 28 C0 45 E6 20 04
C6 1E 12 F0 E6 1C D7 8D 01 46
End

and then give this one a try...

Upgrade protocol 0 = 01 FF (S3C8+) DLO HomeDock Deluxe (PB v4.00)
58 85 21 8B 12 CF 44 08 08 01 32 03 52 01 32 01
27 D9 80 12 00 08 F0 20 11 E6 06 7A 18 05 56 C1
0F EB 03 E6 06 4F F6 01 46 C6 28 C0 45 C6 20 05
00 E6 1C D7 8D 01 46
End

The first one matches the Pronto learns as closely as possible and the 2nd one matches your learns as closely as possible.
