No criticism of you was intended, nor would I expect you to go through such gyrations

I'm just used to fora whose software *automatically* displays a thumbnail or preview with a link to the full image instead of embedding the whole image inline at full resolution.
RMIR GUI opens with the wrong size

I am still having a minor problem with the way the RMIR GUI opens. I reported a similar problem earlier in this thread.
What has changed:
- I am now using Windows 10.
I am no longer switching between the laptop screen and an external monitor; I use only an external monitor at its native resolution of 1920x1080.
RMIR now opens a bit wider than and not as tall as the display.
What remains the same:
- RMIR does not reopen in the format it had when closed.
I have tried all of the windows native workarounds described in
this post to no avail.
I have zipped screenshots of RMIR's behaviour and my Windows display settings and uploaded them
here.
This is a minor cosmetic complaint and I am fully aware and accept that it has a *very* low priority.
I am very grateful for all of the work that has gone into creating and maintaining this software and this website.

Please save the RemoteMaster.properties and .rmir files after closing an RMIR session, then open the .rmir file, re-save it and save the new RemoteMaster.properties file. This is a text file and should be in your RMIR installation folder. If I understand you correctly, RMIR should have opened a different size in these two instances. The RMBounds entry in the properties file is what governs the size at which RMIR opens. You may like to look at this and see if it has changed in the two instances, but please post both properties files in full for me to look at to see if I can identify a reason for any change.
I suspect it has to do with you using an external monitor. Does the same happen if you just use the laptop screen?
Problem solved!

The behaviour on the laptop screen is the same. I have uploaded the requested files
here. There are few differences, none involving RMbounds in RemoteMaster.properties and none at all in the .rmir files (after all I didn't change the remote configuration).
After further reflection, I think I understand what is happening. I didn't actually *resize* the RMIR window, so there is no reason why RMbounds should change. Instead, I simply maximize the window, which doesn't change the window size that Windows keeps for "Restore Down". Other programs, such as PSPad and Total Commander, remember the last state of the GUI in addition to the window size.
In my case I would be better served by an option "Always open maximized" than restoring the last saved window size. The stored window size won't be of much use when/if I change between screens with different resolutions.
Since I rarely use my laptop standalone anymore, I will simply change RMbounds to 0,0,1920,1080 manually in RemoteMaster.properties.
Problem solved!
Many thanks for your help!
