Thank you! I have bookmarked that address.

Possibly it would be sensible to make an menu entry in RMIR like Help -> Download directory (or "Download current version", or whatever...) that would browse said directory. (Like in IrScrutinizer Help-> Browse Releases.)
Users of
my download script just have to
 to get the current version (or
for the development version).

I placed a zip file here:
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... e_id=27252
It contains two RMDU files, plus the "rmaster.err" file from each load.
The "(0)" file (dated 2018) fails to load.
The "(1)" file (dated 2024) loads successfully.
I created the "(1)" by manually editing the "(0)" file.
Please note: if you use Windows built-in support to extract the files from the zip, the file dates are not preserved (the files receive the current date). I use the 7-Zip tool, which does preserve the file dates.

				@Barf
There are already two Help entries with links to the current RMIR version. Help > Home page has a prominent link at the top, Help > Check for updates gives a link when the user's version is earlier than the current one. I do not want to put a Help link to development versions. I feel that doing so would make them unofficial current versions. I normally give a link with every post about a new development version. I didn't do so in this case as I was expecting it to be of interest only to Randy. Usually I expect bug reports to reference the current official release, not development versions.

				I have posted
development version RMIR v3.2.10 in the
RMIR Development folder on SourceForge.
@Randy
This should fix your latest bug report.
@CyberSimian
This build should load your file
Sony Scala 2 System (0).rmdu without error, and if you save the resulting load then it should omit the line with Function.-1. However, this is not a matter of making it read older .rmdu files as your file is actually faulty. I have tried to load your 2018 file into RemoteMaster v2.07 build 2, which was the current version in 2018 and it fails with that too. I cannot trace how your file was created, so do not know where the error originates, but I have noticed something strange with the file as loaded into v3.2.10. The entry #42 in the Functions tab is named __missing34 and in the Buttons tab it is assigned to button Soft11. I suspect that somehow this is the function that the Function.-1 entry should refer to.

				Graham, I am certainly OK with that. Just to clarify, I never advocated linking the development version; I share your reluctance of doing that. Just the official current version.
It is all just about redundancy. These days people read carefully only in rare occasions, so sometimes redundany can be a good thing.

Thank you for taking the time to investigate this.
I have on my Windows system various RMIR and RMDU files. Most were created by me, and a few were downloaded from Hifi-Remote. I have just scanned all of them looking for the string
Function.-1. I found this string in four device files, for two remote controls. The devices are:
- Sony TV
- Sony Scala 2 audio system
- Pioneer DVD
- Microsoft MCE (yes, really!)
The Microsoft MCE file is interesting because the file date is March 2023.
The remotes are more interesting, because they are the unloved Xsight Lite and Xsight Plus. I wondered whether there was something wrong with the download from these devices, so I created a "Digital Audio" device for each, using the code 1272 on the remote itself (i.e. not connected to the PC). Code 1272 is Microsoft MCE. I then downloaded from each remote and saved the Digital Audio device to an RMDU file using RMIR 3.2.7. Neither RMDU file has the -1 entry.
So I think that it will remain a mystery as to how these files acquired the -1 entry. Thank you once again for investigating this.

				I do not believe this to be a problem with RMIR v3.2.10
but rather a problem with the RMDU upgrade itself
When I add this upgrade to the URC-3660 the device upgrade editor show that this upgrade is Nec1 Dev 134 sub 5 but after clicking ok in the device editor the upgrade is changed to NEC1 Dev 0
Here is the upgrade I am using

				Further experiments seem to point to a problem with RMIR or perhaps the RDF of the URC-3660 trying to use this upgrade

				Randy, I cannot reproduce this. On pressing OK, protocol remains NEC1 134.5. Nothing I try changes this to NEC1 0. Can you please post the URC-3660 .rmir file that you are adding this upgrade to, and possibly the URC-3660 RDF in case yours differs from mine for some reason?

				Sorry Graham
 Problem solved corrupt Remote 981 reset did the trick
I think this remote was one of the 1st used during development of the RDF
and before we found what to do with $74 $75 for the Real-time Macros
some macros in the RMIR are wrong I also have all devices as "tv" so that
it could be programed from the remote without computer
This should not need any further investigation
But I uploaded the files for you to see

				I am posting this here as it is the only thread I can reach. I find this forum now to be unusable. Almost every time I try to access anything, I get
Code: Select all
